This slot is played on a square-shaped grid which is configured as a 5x5 board. This might suggest cluster pays, and you'd almost be right. The mechanics of this game provide a win for lining up three or more symbols. These can't be in a cluster, but can be in a vertical or horizontal line. The styling of Rise of Olympus is very similar to Moon Princess, with the full focus on the reels. There are no mundane playing card symbols in this slot. The low pays are symbols of the gods themselves: a harp, helmet, trident and lightning bolt, while the premium symbols are the three great deities who make an appearance in person.

Rise of the Olympus features a type of cascading reels where the winning symbols disappear, and the remaining tiles shuffle into spaces to make up new lines. When this happens, the centre spot will be taken by a wild, and with every new cascade a multiplier of x1 will keep increasing. However, unlike other types of cascading reels, there are no new tiles that drop from above to make new matches.  

Apart from the cascading reels, there are two other features in this slot: Hand of God and Wrath of Olympus.  

Hand of God occurs on non-winning spins and triggers randomly. To the right of the reels, Hades, Poseidon or Zeus will appear to perform their specific action. Poseidon will add one or two wilds, Hades till turn one type of symbol into another and Zeus will make two sets of symbols vanish from the reels.  

The second feature relates to the meter on the left hand side of the reels. This can be charged up by landing a combination of any of the deities. This will cause all three of the Gods to release their extraordinary powers, one after another.
