To get a win, you'll need a line of at least three symbols, moving from left to right. The low pays are a collection of random square-shaped symbols, while the premium symbols include a variety of underworld animals. 

The wild is the serpent that can slither its way to substitute for other symbols to make a winning line. 

Every time a winning line lands, the symbols involved will disappear, allowing the rest of the board to drop into new positions. New symbols cascade onto the reels, filling up the spaces and potentially creating more wins. This cycle will repeat until there are no more wins to be found.  

This cascading reels mechanism can be found on many slots, but Peter & Sons have added a little extra with Xibalba. With every cascade, any of the reels which held part of the winning line grows by an extra symbol. This increases the ways to win up to a maximum of 7776, with each reel able to increase up to six tiles high.  

In addition, every cascade pushed up the win multiplier. It starts at x1 and increases by +1 with every cascade; it has no upper limit, so the potential for payouts is impressive. Once a series of cascades has finished, the multiplier resets for the next paid spin.
