Amazon Kingdom is a thirty-payline slot from one of the up-and-coming development teams, Just For The Win. What’s immediately interesting about this game is that it’s a sequel to a hit first release, but it comes with a different title of sorts. If you played Just For The Win’s Scarab Kingdom, this is the next instalment in the series.
As you will be able to tell from the title, in the original, players were taken on a trip to Ancient Egypt. And in this one, it’s the Amazon region of South America. So, the aim of Just For Win is to continue taking punters on adventures to different kingdoms around the world.
The game itself extends slightly beyond the standard offering by presenting thirty paylines across five reels and four rows. And what's immediately apparent is that there's a real dedication towards making Amazon Kingdom as fun as an experience as possible for those spinning the reels.
There are elements of the bonus rounds from Scarab Kingdom because they really worked well and were a hit with players. But they’re not exact replicas, which means those who played the original will be getting their hands on something new here.
We have to say that we're really impressed with Amazon Kingdom from a visual standpoint. It looks great. The artwork has a video game style going on, and it's eye-catching. The use of some really deep colours also grabs your attention from the get-go. All of this is fantastic at promoting the Amazon theme, which runs throughout the game.
On the reels, the same applies in terms of how good the icons look. There are royals, but they're colourful and encased in a circular design. They look the part rather than just being there to make up the numbers, which is often the case with other slots.
There are also theme-related symbols that will appear on the reels. They include an array of animal heads, as well as male and female characters. It’s a good icon selection, with the design really helping everything stand out.
The reels in Amazon Kingdom have bonus holders above them, which collect bonus icons. When three of them are collected on a single reel, the Wild Scroll feature will begin. It’s also possible for one bonus icon to start the Queen’s Bonus.
In Wild Scrolls, a scroll will begin at the top of the reel and expand one position down with each spin. And, because it's wild, it can help to form winning combos. Twelve gold coins come into play in Queen's Bonus, with punters making selections from the offering. Three identical cash amounts will lead to a possible prize of up to 5,000x.
There are a couple of free spins bonus rounds in Amazon Kingdom, with things kicking off with the standard version. Free spin icons on reels 2, 3 and 4 simultaneously will start the round, with a wild scroll present at the top of reel three. The free spins keep going until there are no more wild scrolls present.
There is also the Super Free spins bonus game, where two free spin icons landing will mean one point is added to the free spins upgrade meter. When twenty are collected, three free spins symbols will start the Super Free Spins bonus game, with wild scrolls on reels two and four.
If you played Scarab Kingdom by Just For the Win, you would know that this Amazon-based instalment is going to be a must-play. It's an opportunity to embark on another adventure that not only looks the part, but there is some excellent gameplay to enjoy, too, primarily the bonus features, which are well thought out and potentially very rewarding.
