This online slot from Red Tiger doesn't beat around the bush - there's money on the reels, and hopefully, there will be some in your pocket by the end of play, too, with a top prize of x5000. 

If you're a regular player, your mouth may have been watering at the idea of a new Red Tiger title in April 2022. However, before launching the game, you may need to dial down your expectations because this isn't the glorious visual feast that you usually get with this studio. It's an unexpectedly basic game with graphics that seem bizarrely flat - but given their creativity, perhaps this is part of some overall strategy to focus on the play…?! 

Cash or Nothing takes place on a 5x3 board which includes 20 traditional paylines. Betting is slightly subdued with a 0.10 to 20.00 betting range, but this fits well against a medium to high volatility. With a fairly modest top payout of x5000, this slot won't be for those who like to chase down the huge paydays. 

As mentioned above, if you didn’t know this was a Red Tiger slot, you’d never know it was a Red Tiger slot! The simple green background with gold reels and a pile of banknotes on top isn’t the kind of visual delights we’re accustomed to seeing from this studio. The symbols on the reels looking two-dimensional and a little dated too. Maybe it’s an attempt to create a retro vibe? Let’s just say you won’t be playing this slot for the cutting edge graphics! 

The playing card royals make up the low pays, while the premium symbols are single, double or triple bars - a very traditional symbol that used to feature in old-school fruit machines. The low pays deliver up to x3 for a line of five while the premiums offer up to x10 for the same, so the payouts are decent.  

Backing up the design as a more classic slot is the fact that there is no wild in this game. You’re on your own!

True classic slots don't have a bonus round, but thankfully that's not the case here. Red Tiger has at least opted to include a playable bonus round.  

Cash scatter symbols can land on every reel, and if you hit five in a single turn, you'll unlock the Cash Spins bonus round. You'll start with three spins, but the board will be changed; only two special symbols or a cash scatter can land. Every time a symbol lands it locks into position and will remain on the reels until the end of the bonus, when the prizes will be calculated.  

In addition to the cash symbols, you can also land: 

●     Double Diamond scatters. They will randomly trigger twice to double the value of to separate cash symbols.

●     Frenzy scatters. They increase the value of all visible cash symbols by an amount matching your stake. 

Not all online slots have to be complicated in either their visuals or gameplay, as Red Tiger demonstrates with Cash or Nothing. It's a throwback to a simpler style of play, which will undoubtedly appeal to some, but not all. As a Red Tiger slot, it's beautifully executed with features that work well, but it's somewhat lacking in both features and visuals compared to their other titles. Hit or miss?
