Wild Gold, a new release by Slot Factory takes players deep inside a gold mine to search for the elusive shiny metal. There’s gold everywhere in this mine, with expanding Wilds that fill the reels with nuggets and a runaway mine cart loaded to the brim with the precious metal granting multipliers when it lands on the centre position on the grid.

The grid itself is 5x3, and apart from the gold mining theme, Wild Gold is, at heart, a classic slot. The background is a mine shaft, but the reels themselves are very plain and simple, without any fancy decoration or animations to distract from gameplay.

The betting range is from 0.01 to 15.00 per payline, but since there are ten active paylines in this game, the cost of the actual bet per spin ranges from 0.10 up to 150.00 on this high volatility slot.

The layout of Wild Gold sticks to the classic format, as do the symbols. They are all what you would expect to see on a fruit machine of old. Low-paying symbols are funky-looking card ranks from 9 to A. Prizes for these start at 3 x the bet for three 9s, all the way up to 25 x for five of the Aces on a payline. The premium symbols are a horseshoe, Bar, bell, and Lucky 7. The highest paying symbol is the pickaxe, awarding a potential top prize of 200 x the bet for five of a kind.

Players will notice that the outer two reels, 1 and 5, are blue. This is because the Gold Nugget Wilds can land on these two reels only. But when they do, they’ll expand to fill the whole reel in a feature that Slot Factory is calling Banner Wilds.

There’s a train track behind the centre position on the grid. If the mine cart full of gold lands here, it will trigger the bonus Wild, which you can read about below in the Bonuses section. Three or more of the Free Spins symbol trigger the Free Spins round.

The first of the bonuses is the Banner Wilds which expand to cover an entire reel. These are active in the base game and the Free Spins. And after a losing spin in the base game, a Wild can be randomly added to the reels, and the player is granted one respin. 

The Bonus Wild is activated when the mine cart appears in the centre position on the reels. The tracks will appear in more detail, and mine carts with random multipliers from 2x up to 10x flash past. When one stops, it becomes Wild and sticks for the next spin. Any wins on that spin have the multiplier applied. 

Landing three Free Spins symbols anywhere on reels 1, 3, and 5 triggers the Free Spins. During this round, the 9, 10, and Jack symbols are removed from the reels and replaced with Bells and 7s. Any Wilds that land stick for the remainder of the round, as well as adding one more free spin to the total. The Mine Cart multiplier is also active throughout the round, respinning on every spin to award multipliers of up to 10 x on any wins.

There's potential gold in this here slot, but it can take a while to strike it. The sticky wilds and the bonus multiplier make the Free Spins potentially very lucrative, but this is a high-volatility game.
