There is only one special symbol in Pilgrim of Dead, shown as a golden pillar, which acts as both the scatter and wild icon. The golden pillar can trigger the main bonus mode, as discussed below, or replace any other symbol as part of a combination. 

Should three or more wild symbols land during the same spin, the main bonus mode in Pilgrim of Dead will activate. Similar to 'Book of' slots, one symbol will be selected to expand for the duration of the round. However, players can choose to reroll this once, if they wish. It's worth mentioning that the outcome of the reroll will be the chosen symbol for the round, and players do not have the option to revert to the original icon.  

Now, the expanding symbol will ignore all paylines, and they simply have to appear on different reels. Premium icons only need to drop on two reels, while regular symbols need to land on a minimum of 3. The first time the expanding symbol appears on a reel, it will remain sticky for the duration of the bonus, too. This can help players to form more combinations as the round progresses. Should three additional wild symbols appear, another three spins will be awarded, which can occur a maximum of 10 times. 

While at first glance Pilgrim of Dead may appear to be another 'Book of' slot, the bonus mode is slightly different.
