There are untold numbers of Egyptian-themed slots around, and Secret of Dead doesn't really offer anything you haven't seen before. In fact, it's quite the contrary. This slot is a bit of a mash-up of two previous titles: Legacy of Dead and Scroll of Dead. The similarities are striking, but with no Cat Wilde or Rich Wilde, you're on your own to try and hunt down the treasure.  

The game is played on a 6x3 grid; this is similar to Scroll of Dead, except in that game, the 6th reel only appears in the bonus feature. There are ten flexible paylines that provide the opportunity to reduce the betting right down to just one payline, should you prefer. There aren't a lot of studios that offer the same flexibility, so it's an element that some players might find very useful. Volatility is relatively high, although not cranked up to the max, so you will need to be a little patient before you start to see any decent wins. 

If it wasn’t for the themed symbols on the slot, you might not instantly recognise where this slot is set. Although it’s obvious where you have travelled to, the reels don’t really give away any clues. On the paytable, it's the standard playing card royals that make up the low pays, while the premium symbols include a scarab beetle, serpent, cats and a representation of the god, Shai. Get a full line of six for Shai, and you'll receive a very royal x500.  

The Ankh cross is the wild, and it will represent for any of the regular pays that you line up. 

As is found in other games such as Scroll of Dead, the Ankh cross plays multiple roles, also appearing as the scatter.  

If you land three scatters on a single turn, you'll open the free spins bonus round. Players begin with 8-15 free spins, depending on how many scatters they landed. Before the bonus games begin, one of the symbols is chosen to be special - this means they will expand on the reels every time they land. In addition, they will count no matter where they are and win all ways, more like a scatter.  

If you land a further three scatters during the bonus round, you'll get an extra five free spins, plus an additional symbol will be chosen to be expanding.  

Finally, you can opt to try and maximise your winnings by utilising the Gamble feature. It's not compulsory, so feel free to ignore it if you prefer to keep things low risk.
